3ph, I think they spelled Utaku wrong...

Will be looking for ways to use her in an Ide deck I think

This may be our most polarizing card so far this arc because there are a lot of pros and cons to consider regarding whether she is worth running.

3ph - this is almost non-existent for a non-courtier, non-maiden personality. She will make Thoughtless Sacrifice, Soul's Sacrifice, and the new Casting Aside Honor much more consistent
5g - Boxable stats that almost fit into 3f blank dudes type decks
Kensai - with items having a better F/G ratio than cav followers, you won't need to worry as much about having more weapons in hand than bodies to attach them to
Unopposed Move action - Makes cavalry sleazing easier, and allows to you play Moto Okano and still be able to move him around

2f - She is vulnerable to so many un-boosted melee/ranged/fear effects. You also need more force-per-card to take a province
Cannot attach followers - There seems to be a growing trend of items having a better F/G ratio, but cavalry followers having better battle actions
Ability only affects infantry - This can be a big downside because using it reliably means that you are further diluting the number of cavalry units that you have by needing to include more infantry personalities
Hard to pronounce name - C'mon team-that-names-the-personalities, really? However, I do like the suggestion that was made on the FB page of just calling her Moto Angry B****. Or maybe Mad Dog to match her flavor text.

I really like the additional 3ph body, but she is only useful with good infantry personalities to take advantage of. This might be a good time to revisit Ogre-dueling with the new economy and movement tricks.

Personally? I'm a fan, though I agree she should have been an Utaku.

Also, complaints saying she's bad compared to a 3F personality are shaky IMO. Let's review things for a second:

 2F (Starting)
 +2F (Insert your favored weapon here)
 +2F (Insert another weapon or an armor here, or a +2 Force pump of some kind)
 +2F from any source you like (General's Hatamoto, Gather your Strength, Expensive Achivement [functionally the same], etc.)
=== 8 Force, which cracks a 7 PS.

Compare this to someone who started at 3F and you get 9 PS, both of which still cracks 7 PS. The only time this would matter is when you're facing...

-Unicorn Mirror Match (8 PS)
-Scorpion Dishonor (8 PS)
-Spider anything (8 PS)
-Crab (9 PS).
-Phoenix Rae Sensei ( 8 PS).

Let's break this down in turn. I'm going to ignore the last two since A) no one is breaking 9 PS unless you have a great hand, 2F or 3F; and B) Lol @ Rae Sensei. Moving on...

 Given the fact that Unicorn Mirror Match means your opponent forces opposed battles (they have cavalry too!), I don't see the difference of 9F vs 8F here as meaningful - Thoughtless Sacrifice was going to kill your 3F blank dude just as well as 2F angry dog girl here. Failing that, your opponent's speedbump was going to bounce your 3F guy just as well as your 2F guy, unless they're offering you an uncontested province, which you can't always count on.
 Every scorpion I've played has either Tactical Setback or an open force penalty of some kind. Unless you also have Breaking the Rythmn, 3F wasn't going to break the province either. And dishonor tricks were going to hit your 3F guy just as well as your 2F guy.
 It's Spider.

The only valid complaint I see about this girl is that the average ranged or melee attack kills her, though the likelihood that she has an item on during combat mitigates this some. Thus, unless you're *that* focused on being able to take 8 PS vs 7 PS, she's just as good as anyone else on the table. Doubly so, if you're into items as a theme.

Pretty darn cool. I like seeing odd stuff like a non-unique 3PH Moto. It's been almost 10 years since we've seen that. And a battle action that only affects infantry guys on a Cav gal. Sure she only has 2F on her own but she's a team player, letting us do the shell games tricks with our walkers as well as our riders. I prefer running all Cav for the movement shenanigans so she enables my playstyle and lets me play with our awesome infantry guys. She's not for every deck but she's going to be fun in the decks that can make use of her.

1. I love Cav Kensai, quick and easy province crunching. Mostly due to how many weapons have destined also allows for easy includes in honor builds.
2. 5gc 3 ph is a nice line even though 3F is more the purple thing.
3. Move action doesn't target people at home, at shakash and movement madness, add cav escort and she allows you to keep the cav advantage..

It means that this arc, a lot of movement requires the target being moved in to be at home. Kyouaku-Inu says "any location."

A very interesting personality, clearly she could be very good, but I'm not quite sure what deck she would go in, and whether that deck would be good. If you want to play an ogre bushi deck you probably have to choose between her and aranai sensei due to the HR, and I'm pretty sure aranai sensei wins.

Potentially a kensai deck, though it would be mostly out of clan personalities, and what with the set of kensai strategies you probably also want to play out of aranai sensei, so that doesn't work. (Though as an aside I have been wondering if a kensai deck with aranai sensei would work, with bayushi akagi, the new mantis kensai, possibly some of the dragon guys?)

So I suspect any deck to take advantage of this personality would be running our infantry personalities, okano and tobita are both quite strong and have decent battle actions, possibly erdene as well (though I generally like to save her for the defense). So I suppose you could play a deck where everyone has a decent battle action, and try and force some opposed battles, but those aren't the sorts of deck that have been successful so far in ivory, generally efficient force seems to be the way to go.

The other issue for any deck using her is that given you would be running a significant number of infantry guys you're going to have games where you just see the infantry guys, and loss all your mobility, and have a blank stronghold.

Basically I suppose I am just echoing everyone else: "she seems good, but in which deck?"

We lose a lot of our Cavalry/Movement tricks in Strict/Ivory 2.
Sayaka, Sakiko, Sang-Ju, Sujikaro, Kinto 1, Kinto 2, Tselu 1, Tselu 2, Yoshi, Ming-Qwok, Karasu, and Daikan.
That makes Cavalry Sleaze diffictulty. She lets you Cav Sleeze with 2 guys makes Tobita and Okano that much better in an environment with no Camels or Elephants.
Some players don't enjoy Shugenjas because they can be pretty squishy with moderate investment (compared to Samurai), so she allows those players to keep playing military in those formats. We still can't really use a sensei, but she was definitely needed to round out our in clan personalities. (Any cavalry guy would have sufficed, but she is very solid early game)

Another potential aspect is decks running items instead of followers (the concept of having 9 4 gold destined items is appealing.) could sub her in over Sujikaro and with Ben's new card she puts the number of 3PH people not named Izimi to 15. That's pretty much going to give you 2-3 Game of Dice over the course of a game. There could be something there.

But yeah, Ivory 2 and Strict is where we really needed her.
