Re: Riding the wings of magic (uincorn shugenja in 20F)

Firstly thank you for posting this! A really interesting read, lots of interesting stuff. I do really like the idea of trying brotherhood sensei, as the economic penalty is not so severe, I would expect that that would make for the best unicorn shugenja deck. I am a bit concerned with how to make th...

20F arc Tselu honour

Hey, so I am pretty excited by Tselu sensei. I am honestly very unsure as to whether it works better for military or honour, but at the minute I am testing a honour variant, which I am hopeful will work: The Endless Plains of the Unicorn Tselu sensei Dynasty: Holdings(17): 3x Stables 3x Small-Time B...

Re: 20F Arc - Commander

Have you considered Taitaken sensei? Plays very very with the fearless heavy cav, though with superior defence and merciless assault you may suffer from bowing too many of your own followers. Or are you concerned the drawback is too steep (makes running okano tough, and okano is the man). I also lik...

Unicornsai - World's Strict tournament 4th place.

So, I took part in the strict tournament at World's in Sheffield over the weekend (an amazing event, kudos to the patriot games staff for putting on such an excellent event, and congratulations to our new world champion!), and did better than I was expecting, going 5-1 and finishing 4th. I wanted to...

Re: new deck please help :)

Hi, I really like the concept for this deck, have you had much of an opportunity to test? What have you found to be tough or easy match ups? How have you found the gold scheme, does it work well for you, are the schools of wizardry proving effective? There are a few things I might change though: As ...

Re: Post TCS Kotei Build V2.1

Slapping an extra Coastal Lane to 42 cards is a no brainer, I will then change the personality based to be slightly more expensive, that is play 2-3 more bigger personalities, and keep the holding count the same, maybe even play one more utility holding and one less 343. I am unlikely to change the...

Re: Post TCS Kotei Build V2.1

I've been testing this gold scheme recently, and I have to say its pretty amazing, it seems to be the most consistent scheme I've tested so far. Thinking forward to Alits though I'm curious as to whether you would consider adding any of the new holdings? I like the look of both coastal lane (another...

Re: Competitive gold schemes

I have tried this, my logic was you could run ~12 holdings (cloth market plus the 444s), and 28 personalities. It worked ok, but there are some issues: Firstly paying odd bits of gold in the limited phase can be awkward, a kharmic or a game of dice for instance. Secondly our personality base has gol...

Re: Shinjo Shimikoto

Combos well with hidden dagger, melee 4 and fear 5. Still very expensive though. Also another infantry body to work with the kensai. Definitely needs testing I think.

Re: [ALitS] Moto Kyouaku-Inu

A very interesting personality, clearly she could be very good, but I'm not quite sure what deck she would go in, and whether that deck would be good. If you want to play an ogre bushi deck you probably have to choose between her and aranai sensei due to the HR, and I'm pretty sure aranai sensei win...

Re: Worshipping Death - aka making akikazu work

I have tried death priests post-TCS, I was considering playing it at the Sheffield kotei but decided a week or so before switching to fallen duelling, I did however play death priests in the second chance. With Qorin it is now possible to consistently get a cav shugenja out, so the deck does work to...

Re: [TCS] Personality: Moto Erdene

Probably not useful enough to be played outside a deathpriest deck. However would probably be very solid in that deck, which looks to be very bow heavy anyway. Also helps reliably get a dead person for daiken and ming-gwok (and to a lesser extent the sensei). Nice chump blocker as well. Blow up, get...

Re: Akikazu Sensei Shugenja build

Why no Ulagan? It seems like the only way that you have to make a dead dude is with FISHMAN. It seems like it might almost be worth it to run Nikaru and TDN, just to pitch them so you can have a fear9 (take that kensai!). if you aren't fortunate enough to see a FISHMAN, you're kinda SOL with using ...

Re: No holdings blitz. Yes it works.

Really cool deck :), I might look at trying this (at least games will be quick). A couple of suggestions to consider though: Advance warning/back to the front: Bit combotastic, and doesn't work with cav, but could really help take that first province. Tonfajutsu: +2F or a useful action, you should b...

Re: Akikazu Sensei Shugenja build

I finally got around to messing around with a Unicorn Shugenja deck and the first thing I noticed is that Death Priests are not a fully functional theme yet. Too few Cavalry guys, too few guys with military stats, and too many guys who are blank or mostly so. The bad news is that Death Priests aren...

Re: Iceland Kotei 2014 Winner

Congrats matt! I really like the deck, it looks very nice. Good to see the sensei being useful as well :). I hadn't considered that with so many people playing Wattu they could activate your sensei for you, that does make it more reliable. Were there any times you wanted the battle action but there ...

Re: [IE] The Dark Motos - Corrupted Death Priest

Hi, I like the idea for the deck, looks promising. My main concern would be playing personalities with honour requirements at all with so many honour loses, I think if you're making a corrupt deck, then just stick with it (maybe play Ming-Gwok, as he is pretty damned good!) You might also want to co...

Re: Akikazu Sensei Shugenja build

The gold scheme in this deck doesn't allow for a T2 swing with ashalan, in fact, I think it would be difficult in general without crippling yourself. I do like the option to attack T3 though, which this deck only really does with ashalan ambush. I've seen T2 attacks and they cripple the attacked ju...

Re: Akikazu Sensei Shugenja build

Thanks for the replies. Hi, it is nice to see that there are people trying to make Akikazu work ! I suggest going for a little bit of everything, if you focus for example on bowing, then probably you'll struggle against Dragon Kensai and Dueling. Having a little bit of bow, send home, kill allows ad...

Akikazu Sensei Shugenja build

Hi, this is my first attempt at a shugenja military deck. I would be very interested if anyone has any comments on thoughts, either on this deck, or the IE shugenja military theme in general. Which spells have been most effective? Are there any out of clan shugenja worth using? Anyway, this is what ...
